On September 28, 2023, Diodes Inc. unveiled a significant expansion of its product range in the realm of automotive-grade Low Dropout Regulators (LDOs). This expansion introduces two distinct product series, the AP7583AQ and AP7583Q, both offering maximum output currents of 300mA and a low dropout voltage of 320mV. These LDOs are meticulously designed to cater to the specific demands of the automotive sector.

The applications for these cutting-edge LDOs are diverse, encompassing critical electronic components within vehicles. They find utility in vehicle body control modules, in-car network transceivers, electric vehicle (EV) battery management systems, external lighting infrastructure, and dashboard instrumentation.

One standout feature of the AP7583AQ series is the inclusion of a Power-Good indicator output for each device. This feature is pivotal for continuous power supply monitoring, fault detection, and streamlining power sequencing during startup and shutdown processes.

Both the AP7583AQ and AP7583Q product series are versatile, offering fixed output voltage options (3.3V and 5V) as well as adjustable output versions. These LDOs accommodate a wide input voltage range spanning from 3V to 42V. This combination of a broad input voltage range and low dropout characteristics equips these LDOs to handle cold starts and sudden load variations with ease.

Another standout characteristic of the AP7583AQ and AP7583Q series is their ultra-low quiescent current, consuming a mere 3µA under light loads. This feature makes them exceptionally well-suited for powering components that require continuous operation, such as microcontrollers (MCUs) and CAN transceivers.

Furthermore, all devices in the AP7583AQ and AP7583Q series adhere to AEC-Q100 Grade 1 specifications, ensuring robust and reliable performance in automotive environments. These devices are manufactured in facilities that hold IATF 16949 certification and offer support for PPAP documentation. The packaging options include 6-pin W-DFN2020 packages, while the AP7583AQ series also provides 8-pin MSOP and 4-pin TO252 package configurations.

Diodes Inc.'s latest LDO product offerings represent a significant advancement in automotive-grade voltage regulation technology, meeting the stringent requirements of the industry. This expansion reinforces Diodes Inc.'s commitment to delivering innovative solutions that empower the automotive sector to achieve new levels of efficiency and performance.
